GOLD

June 6 1944:
over 133,000 troops land in Normandy
for the largest amphibious invasion of all time.

25,000 disembark at Arromanches-les-Bains.
Their mission:
to deliver a final blow to the Nazi stranglehold in Europe.

Their destination:
Gold Beach.
But beyond the political rhetoric and military strategy are boatfuls of ordinary young men – farmers, clerks, students, entertainers – who find themselves catapulted to the forefront of history.
