HERMIA is running through the woods in some distress.  She has eloped with LYSANDER because she does not wish to marry DEMETRIUS (her father’s choice) but LYSANDER (subject to love potion in his eyes) now appears to love HELENA.  In this scene, she stumbles into the clearing in the woods and tries to understand why LYSANDER does not love her any more.
