The real Macbeth reigned in Scotland from 1040 - 1057, and was given new life in Shakespeare's tragedy of 1606.  When the Thane of Glamis is accosted by three 'supernatural hags' and told that he will become Thane of Cawdor AND King of Scotland, his ambitious wife spurs him towards the bloody killing spree that sees them raised to the throne of Scotland.   Macbeth is Shakespeare's shortest tragedy, but is filled with delicious characters and juicy stand-alone scenes.  Click through for details of each scene.
